Scope: 

This policy is applicable throughout the University.

Purpose: 

This policy provides the guidelines for which student physical presence is collected and reported. 

Policy: 

According to the 2019 State Authorization Federal Regulations, any institution offering education programs to students outside of its home state are required to track students' physical location upon initial acceptance and when a noted change in location is declared.  U.S. Department of Education State Authorization§ 600.9(c)(2)

Florida is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA) and AdventHealth University is an approved SARA institution. As a member of SARA, AHU collects and annually reports students' physical presence. 

AHU collects students' physical presence data upon enrollment in the University and upon each subsequent registration.  
 

Definition(s): 

Physical presence is defined as the state in which the student is present during the trimester in which they are enrolled.
