The purpose of this procedure is to provide the guidelines to determine the days off for holidays at AHU.

AdventHealth University has 11 holidays for employees.  Six holidays are required to be taken off and five holidays are optional.

Required Holidays - For the six required holidays the AHU campuses are officially closed, meaning there are no classes and no security personnel on campus.  Employees are not to work on these six required holidays, unless they have permission from their direct supervisor and President Council member.

Optional Holidays - For the five optional holidays, there will be no classes, faculty have the time off, and security will be on campus.  An employee who wants to work on an optional holiday instead of using their PDO needs to inform their manager of their desire to work. The manager will inform the employee if there is work available and whether the work is to be done on campus or remote.  Services such as IT, Library, etc. will be limited and may not be available.

Those holidays are:
